Scope of Services
Limitation of Liability and Disclaimer
The Laundry People exercises the utmost care in processing and handling all garments and items entrusted to us. We use processes that, in our professional opinion, are best suited to the items submitted.
Nevertheless, we cannot assume responsibility for:
- Shrinkage
- Tears
- Ink stains
- Color loss or bleeding
- Fading
- Damage to weak, tender, or defective fabrics
- Issues arising from inherent weaknesses, defects, or pre-existing conditions in materials (which may not be apparent prior to processing)
Laundering and cleaning processes inherently carry risks of normal wear and tear, including but not limited to the above. We are not liable for any such damage, including ink stains of any sort, shrinkage, or tears resulting from standard processing.
We make every effort to treat stains but cannot guarantee complete removal of any stains, including ink.
Customers are advised to review care labels and point out any special concerns or delicate items prior to submission. By submitting items for service, you acknowledge and accept these risks.
For any proven loss or damage directly attributable to our negligence (and not resulting from the above disclaimed issues), our liability shall be limited to €10. In no event shall we be liable for indirect, consequential, or punitive damages.
User Responsibilities
- Bag items appropriately and label separate service types (e.g., wash & fold vs. dry cleaning).
- Disclose delicate items, special care needs, or pre-existing damage.
- Ensure pickup/drop-off access (porch, concierge, or designated area).
- Remove valuables from pockets prior to service.
Pickups & Deliveries
Pickup and delivery windows are scheduled in advance. You do not need to be home if a secure drop-off location is provided. Missed pickups may be rescheduled at our discretion.
Pricing & Billing
Pricing is shown at order time and may vary by item type and location. Taxes, surcharges, or fees may apply. You authorize charges to your selected payment method upon order processing.
Cancellations & Refunds
Orders may be cancelled prior to pickup. Once processing begins, refunds are not guaranteed and are evaluated case-by-case for service issues.
Garment Care & Limitations
We follow industry-standard care labels and best practices. Some stains may not be fully removable. Delicate or non-colorfast items may carry inherent risk, which you acknowledge by submitting them.
Lost or Damaged Items
Claims must be submitted within 48 hours of delivery. Resolution may include reimbursement based on fair value, repair, or service credit, subject to investigation and documentation.
Turnaround Times
Typical turnaround times are provided at order and may vary due to volume, special items (comforters, household items), or holidays.
Privacy
Your information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Operational communications about pickup/delivery are considered service messages.
Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
